ANGLERS’ COLLECTION
For those who are passionate about the oceans and marine life the bronze sculptures of Bodo Muche will hold special significance.
The beauty, strength and wonder of Billfish always fascinated Bodo and they were the subject of many sculptures. Wonderful curved lines and powerful shapes, combined with the balance of the water create the finished work of art.
The sculptures of Bodo Muche are found in private and public collections internationally and continue to inspire generations of Anglers. The Studio maintains long and close collaborations with sustainable conservation organisations such as the International Game Fish Association. Several of Bodo’s iconic works are displayed at IGFA Headquarters.
Colours of the Sea
Australian Boulder Opal is often incorporated into the composition of Anglers’ & Mariners’ Collections. It enhances the subject of the sculpture with iridescent, brilliant colours reflecting the “flashing” reflecting Bluewater species of Billfish.
Boulder Opal is an exquisite natural gem, having a unique brilliance of colour found in no other precious stone. Many things about it are unique, including the strength and stability of the natural ironstone boulder which encases it. Prospecting in open cut mines is an arduous task in harsh conditions. Boulder Opal is found only in the vast arid regions of the Australian outback. It is from this source that Bodo Muche Studio procures the rough stone which is then polished and shaped for inclusion with the bronze into a sculptural design. The Boulder stone in which the Opal is found blends well with the Walnut timber bases.
